We aren’t done yet, but eventually they will become “political assessments” that can turn your responses into aggregate community data as well individual ideological classifications within different categories.
The political compass tests usually rely on a “left-right” axis, which groups things that shouldn’t explicitly be grouped. Many of them also lack certain axis’, and never create aggregate data from user’s responses. Lastly, the axis values will be used socially on future forums, so community representatives as well as their supporters can share where they stand along multiple dimensions.
We’re working hard to create the official platform for web and mobile users, but we estimate the full capabilities for our essential features will be releasable by mid 2023.
Our team members hold a diversity of viewpoints, but we’ve done our best to select the most objective ways to classify relevant political leanings. Our goal is to help communities understand themselves better, but we’re always open to criticism or new ideas.
Sure, our initial users will probably consist of friends, family, and political junkies. However, the idea is that our platform will never cut off the “sample size” on a certain date. We want it to be easy and accessible for anyone to share their views and find representation amongst their communities.
